Andrew’s descent is one of the best known historic streets and a major tourist attraction in Kiev. The largest souvenir market is located here. Since ages it connected the Upper town and Podol (Lower Town). The street has a number of monuments - St. Andrew’s church, monument to Pronya and Svirid Golokhvastov, Mikhail Bulgakov’s House, the Castle of Richard Lionheart, the One Street Museum and other. Podil is an ancient district of our city. In the ancient times craftsmen, merchant and fishermen settled here. Now it is very prestigious area with trade centers, boutiques, hotels, restaurants. You will see such historical monuments as Pirogoshcha church, Kiev-Mogila Academy, Frolovskiy nunnery, the monument to Ukrainian philosopher Grigoriy Skovoroda, Guest House and other.
