Mayor's New Year present

Kiev Mayor’s Office has opened a skating rink in the heart of the city Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square. The rink is 540 square meters and is located behind Independence stele.  Skating rink’s working hours are 8:00 to 1:00 till March 15. The rink can fit up to 90 people at the time. The ticket price depends on the time of the day and the weekday and will range from 25 to 45 hrivnas for one session (45 minutes). As became known, orphans, children from poor families or the families, who have many children, and students of boarding schools, are receiving free admissions. Children under 12 years of age are admitted for 20-25 hrivnas. A small wooden town is located near the skating rink, with changing rooms, skates rental, cafeterias and bio toilets. When openining this rink, Major of Kiev Chernovetsky stated, that it made him happy as a child and he would definitely try to skate there himself.
